Computer game bots get tested

A new contest set up to test AI in video games, specifically ‘bots’ may help to develop better AI in the future. And what we need is better, smarter and more receptive AI in our games, right?

The challenge was to create a bot that could pass off as human. The BotPrize challenge is based on the Turing test which challenges a machine to convince the judges it can pass off as human.

This year’s competition featured entrants from Japan, the US, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Brazil and Canada. Entrants were required to create bots for Unreal Tournament 2004.
