God of War goes Blu-ray

The God of War franchise just got a whole lot sexier with the announcement from Sony that they are re-releasing God of War and God of War II on Blu-ray.

Sony reports that the God of War Collection will feature both Playstation 2 games running at 1280 by 720 resolution and 60 frames a second. The collection, which will cost $40, will also include trophy support for the games.

This comes just in time for fans to tied them over. With God of War III still a good half a year away, this announcement should keep fans relatively happy until 2010.
