The Uncharted 3 Multiplayer beta is now live as at 9am NZST. If you were lucky enough to score a beta code, it’s time to download that puppy (it’s around 1.7gigs in size). For those of you who want a code, unfortunately, we haven’t been able to secure any giveaways this time, but if you’re using twitter, there are plenty of beta code giveaways happening.
There are a few problems getting connected, however. You may experience an error “error initializing session manager”. Rebooting your PS3 might work but I think it could be due to congested networks (as in too many peeps connecting at once). If you sit for too long in one particular area (such as customisation), you’ll get disconnected as well.
More updates to come but so far, we haven’t had a chance to actually play yet! C’mon Sony – we love this game, let us play it already!!
UPDATE – @Naughty_Dog announced via twitter that they are currently trying to fix the problem so hopefully, we’ll all be able to connect soonish!

Ok I have another update. Ignore my previous post – the beta will be available to Welcome Back PlayStation Plus users from the 6th of July. So you should be able to use your 30 day trial period to access the beta from that date. My apologies, I just wanted to make sure I got this right for those of you that asked. This is official word from Sony PR.
Ok just heard back from Sony PR – the short answer is no, you cannot use your 30 day free sub for PlayStation Plus to access the Uncharted 3 beta
It was offered via special promotions (like EBGames etc) and to media and anyone who pre-ordered inFamous 2.
Hey David, thanks for commenting
I’m not sure about the Welcome Back Package. I haven’t used mine as yet. But yeah, it would be good to know if those offered the package could use it for the UC3 beta. I’ll chuck sony an email and find out
The beta is also available to Playstation Plus subscribers, I believe. Do you know if that also applies to the 30 day trial membership offered as part of the “So sorry we let the bad guys get your personal data” package? I already have a beta code, but that may be another way to gain access for others who haven’t been so lucky
