One of the top MMOs I’ve played was Warhammer Online. It’s kind of a shame because not many people were aware of the fantastic PvP game play that WAR Online possessed, but it was probably one of the best player experiences I’ve had in an MMO. It crapped all over WoW for so many reasons (which I’m not going into here) suffice to say that I AM TOTALLY HYPED for Wrath of Heroes! Will I be playing it – YOU BETCHA!

There’s not a lot of info on the game at the moment but what I can tell you is that it will be free to play, and will showcase a PvP game play mode similar to other games that rely on “heroes” to compete against other players. Essentially, you will have access to several heroes that you can “swap out” on the fly as you play. And while I can’t confirm this as yet, I think the idea is that each hero you play will be fully equipped with the best gear so all you need to bring is your A game and a world of pain for your opponents!

I think games can lose their shine when players become too pre-occupied with gear. And I’m firmly of the belief that gear does play an important role in your performance, no matter how skilled you are. Wrath of Heroes will do away with all that. It’s basically YOU versus your opponent. The only thing that will matter is your skill which is seriously cool and I can’t wait to play!
