PS2 Games Return to the PS3 – Sony’s “Only On PSN” Intiative

PSN

Sony is kicking off a new promotion to kick-start the PSN with new content, the biggest announcement being that PS2 titles will be making a comeback to the PS3:

According to Dtoid, old favourites from the PS2 will be available for the PS3. However, this doesn’t mean you’ll be able to pop your old PS2 disk into the PS3 and start playing. Alas, no but it does mean that certain old PS2 titles will be made available on the PS3 network to purchase and play:

Confirmed titles:

  • God Hand
  • GrimGrimoire
  • Maximo: Ghosts to Glory
  • Odin Sphere
  • Ring of Red

These titles will appear on the PlayStation Store throughout the Only On PlayStation Network promotion, beginning October 4. All titles will be priced at $9.99 — not a bad deal when you consider that some of the originals can be $50 or more on eBay.

We’re not entirely sure how many of these games will be available for New Zealand PSN users but the promotion starts on October the 4th so check your PSN on October 5th!
